Space Marines and Chaos:
Orks:
Marines armor will be the downfall of your army. Because of the advanced armor, try to take Disintegrators and lances to eliminate their saving throw and cause maximum casualties. Hand to Hand is your friend, wyches, warriors, mandrakes, and hellions are excellent Vs. Marines and will win you the battle. Try to use cover however as their bolters will leave you dead. Take Incubi and a Suited-Up archon to assualt, so that you may tear through their lines.
Haha... Orks.... Well, the Orks are a very powerful oponent. Do not expect CC to win the battle, as the orks shear numbers will leave you dead. Take 2 squads of scourges with 4 cannons (16 shots) and a ravager with 2 disintegrators, and you will see victory fast, as the blasts and numbers of shots will leave even their superior numbers dead. Take 2 squads of jetbikes, one on either flank, so that they may pursue the small numbers of orks before they even hit your lines. (Do not send your jetbikes into battle until numbers of orks are low, and make squad sizes 6-10.)
Sisters Of Battle:
The sisters are very good at close range fighting, and so assualt squads should be at a minimum. Take Scourges with lances and cannons, and a ravager with disintegrators. When in range of their flamers pray that their "Purging" dosen't effect your whole unit, as well... you'll suffer quick defeat.
Dark Eldar:
Kabal fights and kin-strifes are very common, and so it is not unfluffy that you find yourself fighting Dark Eldar. When fighting them, employ a disintegrator heavy army, so that the large squads will be eliminated. CC is equal in this state, but try to hold off as long as possible, weakening their numbers. When assualting, use Incubi, wyches, and hellions.
Imperial Guard:
Oh... The good guys. The Imperial Guard Tank PowerHouse. Forget it Dark Eldar Players, your dead. Ha... Like Dark Eldar die... well, against these get Lances, as their tanks will end your campaign quickly. Hope that they are infantry heavy as you can just sit put, defending well they come to your lines and you end their lives with splinter cannons. When assualting, keep numbers high, as sentinals and ogryns, and even their troops choices have high numbers.
Tyranids:
With 'Nids, sit back with heavy support and large numbers of troops and blast the enemy, if they are shooty, like lots of guants with guns, get assualt troops in raiders.
Eldar:
This army is the counter part of the Dark Eldar. Imploying the same Grav technology that our raiders use, they will be fast. Take squad of heavy weapons, but only a few, as their numbers will be higher if you only have heavy support, and assualt troops will be common. Against Wraiths, use heavy weapons galore, and against a high numbered army, use many warriors. If you find yourself outnumbered, you did not think this force through for the eldar, as numbers will be their weakness. Against specialist troops, such as scorpions and banshees, defianetly take defending and line-holding units such as warriors with lances, this way the transports will be downed first.
| Dark Eldar are the hardest army to play. There is no doubting it. I am not saying that these tactics will help everyone. Please do not trust these tactics if you are not totally sure how to use them, though i do suggest them with 2 thumbs up, they are hard to use as are any Dark Eldar Tactics. These tactics also just begin to skim the depths of knowledge needed to best use a Dark Eldar Army. | TAU: |
Necrons:
CC seems to be a burden for these troops. Incubi with your Archon and Wyches are a must have when facing these shooty menaces. Be careful not to rely on raiders, and the guns of TAU will leave you short handed. Numbers can win here, and elites can win here. It may be needed to limit the numbers in order to provide for wyches and a meat shield (warriors or grotesque w/hamonculi.)
Metallic enemys. Those that stand up again. The only suggestions i have are to take alot of assualt troops. Plant them with alot of fire support, such as scourges, and make sure you have mobility in your force. Lots of Lances and AP 3 guns wouldn't hurt either, as that leaves them with only the ability to come back to life, and no armor throw.
